Ed Sander Memorial Cyclocross Race

There is not much for me to say about my performance in today's event - I absolutely sucked (relative to my usual kind of performance). HOWEVER, I knew going into it it would be hard
for me. I didn't quite exercise my imagination as to just how badly I would suck, but oh well. I now have a very good gauge as to what I need to do to be back at the level I would like to be; quite a bit!

Am I up for it? Only time will tell, but judging by the very familiar "program every minute" piece of paper in my lap, YES!

I think I was 9th today (I didn't bother to check results) - my legs didn't feel good or bad, but I definitely didn't have that fire that produces good results.

Andy, on the other hand, totally rocked! He had a great start and consistent laps to take 3rd - yay! At least one of us did well...

It was still a very worthwhile trip - introducing new people to the awesome world of cross, quality time with the shogrens & our host family, and a re-introduction to my favorite sport. Hooray!

Up next weekend: another cross clinic on Saturday, followed by a race on Sunday. (I'll post flyer info tomorrow, these events are not too far from Ashevegas)

Now, only 383 miles to go to see my precious meowmies!

Hi Cara,

I enjoyed meeting you at the clinic and learned so much from everyone. Thank you and Andy for taking the time to teach us some skills. You don't suck, far from it! Hope to see you at some more cross races.

Best,

Karen
